What does SCCHE do?The South Carolina Council for History Education was established in 2000 to advocate for historical thinking in the K-12 curriculum. Over the last two decades, SCCHE has worked with teachers, museums and historians to offer professional development and resources that highlight local events and individuals. We have sponsored or partnered with organizations to cover topics like the Charleston Earthquake of 1886, Reconstruction, and the history of Columbia's rivers. This year, we partnered with Historic Columbia for a teacher workshop on Civil Rights.
